Path to the League of Legends World Championship
When last you saw Isurus, they were bowing out of the MSI play-in stage, finishing last in Group A with a 2-4 record. This performance came after a mediocre 4th place finish in the LLA 2019 Opening Split and most observers would have pegged them to return to Latin America with their tails between their legs.
However, Isurus appears to have taken that experience from MSI and benefitted from it massively. They finished the regular season with a 17-4 record as the number one team in the region, with a winning record against every single LLA opponent. Then, they stomped their way through the playoffs 3-1 in the semifinals and 3-0 in the finals to prove that this was a better team than they showed at MSI.
Player to watch
Support Slow, who helps drive the bot lane with an incredible 6.69 KDA from the regular season and a 75% kill participation. His exceptional performance has helped vault Warangelus to be one of the best ADCs in LLA in his first split.
Best case scenario
Isurus gets their redemption for MSI, makes it out of groups in play-ins as a second seed.
Worst case scenario
They revert back to the MSI form and don’t even make it out of the play-in group stage.
Prediction
They flame out in the play-in group stage, going 1-3 or 2-2, and miss getting a shot in the knockout round.
