League of Legends Patch 9.19 breakdown – a whole new World (Championship)
By Josh Tyler
Tahm Kench
"E – Thick Skin GREY HEALTH HEAL :: 75% of Grey Health at all ranks >>> 30-100% of Grey Health (levels 1-18)"
The problem with Tahm isn’t his tankiness, but his cross-map mobility with multiple members and his ability to counter any heavy cc ability on the enemy team. Yes, now he can be abused much more easily in lane as a support, but I think he’ll still be picked quite often as a safe support.
Twisted Fate
"E – Stacked Deck ATTACK SPEED :: 10/15/20/25/30% >>> 20/25/30/35/40% BASE DAMAGE :: 55/80/105/130/155 >>> 65/90/115/140/165"
Player Three has joined the mid lane party. AD TF was already more of the trend in pro play to push down towers early and make plays with his ultimate. This only accelerates that advantage.
Vayne
"R – Final Hour BONUS ATTACK DAMAGE :: 20/30/40 >>> 25/40/55"
Games really aren’t going super late that much, where this buff would mostly help Vayne. Still, she gets picked a fair bit in pro play against certain bot lane match-up, so this might give her more edge cases where she would be viable.
Veigar
"E – Event Horizon COOLDOWN :: 18/17/16/15/14 seconds >>> 18/16.5/15/13.5/12 seconds"
Veigar basically only existed in pro play to counter champions like Azir. With him almost certainly out of the meta, I doubt Veigar will get a ton of play based off this buff.
Xin Zhao
"Passive – Determination BASE HEAL :: 8-59 (levels 1-18) >>> 10-78 (levels 1-18) Q – Three Talon Strike BASE DAMAGE :: 20/25/30/35/40 >>> 20/28/36/44/52"
Giving Xin more early power, aka the thing that made him massively strong early on in the season, doesn’t seem like a great idea now. Yes, contesting early Scuttle Crabs isn’t as much a thing, but these changes would still let him duel just about any jungler not named Elise or Lee Sin early. Expect to see more Xin picks at Worlds.
Yuumi
"Q – Prowling Projectile SLOW :: 20/32/44/56/68/80% >>> 20% at all ranks SLOW DURATION :: 1.5 seconds >>> 1 seconds CAT NAP :: Slow no longer decays over time"
Nerfing Yuumi’s Q slow at later ranks was definitely needed. I think she should still be pickable because she tends to be quite safe and still gives a ton of utility to her team, but she definitely won’t be the high-priority menace she was during the playoffs.
Zac
"R – Let’s Bounce! [NEW] GREEN POTION :: Bloblets restore an additional 1/2/3% maximum health"
This is going to really help Zac’s early clear and it could be big since we’ve seen meta tank junglers Gragas and Sejuani both nerfed this patch. Will it be enough, though, is the question.
