League of Legends Teamfight Tactics Patch 9.19 tier list – Kai’Sa begins her hunt
By Josh Tyler
Based on this tier list, we have also taken the average ranking of each champion within every Class and Origin in Teamfight Tactics, which will give our aggregated ranking so you know which synergies are best. One thing to note is that these rankings are purely based on the average champion strength within that group, not the strength of the buff the synergy provides. We are assuming for purposes of this tier list that champions are ranked based on not only cost and statistics, but whether they can be part of a powerful synergy.

Best compositions
In accordance with our rankings, we’ll now be introducing a new list of recommended team compositions based on our Class and Origin rankings, along with the units you should buy in each one, as well as the best iterations to pair those comps with. We will put an asterisk next to the units that should be the main focus of these comps, to get to 2 or 3-stars and put items on. Note that when we recommend specific units of a Class/Origin but omit others for your pairings, we are saying these are the options we would consider to be above average or worthwhile additions to your comp.
- Imperials – Darius, Katarina, Draven (*), Swain (*)
- Pair with Knights by adding Garen/Sejuani/Kayle (Darius + Garen/Sejuani/Kayle)
- Pair with Elementalists by adding Kennen/Brand (Swain + Kennen + Brand)
- Pair with Blademaster by adding Yasuo/any other Blademaster (Draven + Yasuo + any other Blademaster)
- Glacial – Sejuani (*), Anivia (*), Ashe (*), Volbear/Braum
- Pair with Knights by adding Garen/Kayle (Sejuani + Garen/Kayle)
- Pair with Rangers by adding Kindred/Varus (Ashe + Kindred/Varus)
- Pair with Elementalists by adding Kennen and Brand (Anivia + Kennen + Brand)
- Wild – Nidalee, Ahri, Rengar, Gnar (*)
- Pair with Shapeshifters by adding Jayce, Shyvana, or Swain (Nidalee + Gnar + any of the above-Shapeshifters).
- Pair with Assassins by adding Katarina plus one of Zed/Evelynn/Kai’Sa/Akali (Rengar + Katarina + the mentioned Assassins)
- Pair with Rangers by adding the four Wild champions above and any two rangers other than Vayne
- Demon – Varus, Evelynn, Brand (*), Swain (*)
- Pair with Rangers by adding Kindred/Ashe (Varus + Kindred/Ashe)
- Pair with Shapeshifters by adding Gnar/Shyvana (Swain + Gnar + Shyvana).
- You can also go full Shapeshifters if you can get to Level 9, get Force of Nature, or transform one Shapeshifter into a Demon as well with the Darkin item.
- Pair with Elementalists by adding Kennen and Anivia (Brand + Kennen + Anivia)
Concluding notes
While there’s not much more these aggregations can tell us with certainty with regards to comps or items, here is what our data can tell you about what to look for within your next Teamfight Tactics game.
-
-
- Rangers are a good fit into almost any comp that you are building. Prioritize getting early Vaynes and Varuses, but be prepared to dump your Vayne once you get a higher-priority Ranger like Kindred or Ashe.
- Imperials are a great end-game comp, but you’ll need some help getting there. Going early Assassins + Knights and then transitioning to another comp is the way to go here. I personally like six Knights + Imperials, but you’d have to either get Level 9, FoN, or a Knight’s Vow.
- Wild + Ranger synergy. Still really good. The fact that Yordles are so much weaker really helps that comp out too.
- Speaking of which, avoid Yordles at all cost as a primary comp. Even though they’re easier to get now with the Sparring Glove items, they’re just too weak.
