Falling Champions

Leona (S to A+ tier)
Swain (B to C tier)

Observations

Only two champions dropped in Patch 9.20, both of whom rose up in our last patch. Both Swain and Leona have fallen back into the tiers they previously occupied back in 9.18 and neither of their win rates changed substantially over any of those three patches.

Buffed champions

Shaco

As I mentioned above, those buffs to Shaco pushed the Demon Jester into being the winningest support. Specifically, the buffs to Shaco’s AP damage on his W – Jack in the Box and giving them AoE damage made him basically a better lane version of Zyra. He doesn’t skirmish as well as her in the mid and late game, but he can definitely create kills much easier and snowball the bot lane better than just about any support.

Locket of the Iron Solari users

It’s been a while since we saw an item getting buffed, but the increased shield strength was definitely a boon to those champions that build it most often. Here are the champions that have Locket in one of their core item builds and how they shifted in our tier list from 9.19:

  • Alistar = +0.078
  • Bard = +0.098
  • Blitzcrank = +0.234
  • Braum = -0.064
  • Gragas = +0.057
  • Leona = -0.182
  • Lulu = +0.018
  • Morgana = +0.051
  • Nautilus = -0.041
  • Shen = +0.071
  • Tahm Kench = +0.126
  • Taric = +0.157
  • Thresh = +0.058

Nerfed champions

Blitzcrank

Despite getting some base stat nerfs, Blitzcrank did rise up in the tier list to the S tier. However, as we noted, his win rate did drop following these nerfs.
