Observations
- Interestingly, there isn’t a lot of agreement among the top tier support picks. At least one site rated Nautilus and Leona as B tier or below in Patch 9.22 and Thresh was rated as A tier as often as S tier by sites.
- Of the champions who rose a tier in this patch, Gragas (1.7%) saw the most significant increase to his win rate, but Thresh and Leona both got slight win rate bumps along with having high play rates. These champs seem to be trending towards being stronger in actual power.
- Similarly, the champions who dropped in our tier lists with a corresponding win rate drop include Karma (2% decrease), Rakan (1.6%), and Shaco (1.6%).
- Even though Brand moved up into the B tier, his win rate from last patch is actually down by over 3%. With a 46.5% win rate in Patch 9.22, he’s probably still a C tier pick (maybe trending towards D tier).
- Maokai has the highest win rate for any support in the current meta, at patch 54.4%. The champion with the lowest win rate in Patch 9.22 so far is Yuumi, at 42.1%.

Nerfed champions
Blitzcrank
Many folks scoffed at the damage nerf to Blitzcrank‘s Q – Rocket Grab but the results weren’t negligible. He not only fell out of the S tier to A+ tier but his win rate is also down by about 0.7%. That’s not huge, but the nerfs had an effect.
Nautilus
Unlike Blitzcrank, the damage nerf to Nautilus’s R – Depth Charge didn’t seem to be that impactful, as he stayed in the S tier. However, his win rate did go down by about 0.8% in Patch 9.22, so he could very well drop further in the next patch.
