100 Thieves

The move: drop Ryu, acquire Jensen

This, again, happens in a fantasy world where Liquid and 100 Thieves do the right thing to build their rosters, but honestly, this is a slam dunk for 100T. Even though Steve is rolling in bank to pay whatever import out there to come play mid for him if he goes after one of those prized European/Korean imports he could still use some income to recoup those losses.

Enter Nadeshot, who has never been gunshy about spending money on his organization. If Steve wanted to unload Jensen’s contract for an upgrade, 100 Thieves are probably the only NA organization with the resources to do it and they have a big incentive to do so.

Adding Jensen gives 100T an NA mid laner, allowing them to construct their dream roster that includes Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho in the top lane, Amazing in the jungle, Bang/Aphromoo bot. With Jensen centering that lineup, the Thieves could be looking to steal that LCS title back from Steve.

FlyQuest

The move: drop WildTurtle, add Lost/FBI

FlyQuest is an enigma of a team both in terms of their performance (solid in spring, ghastly in summer) and philosophy. I think this organization is going to try and go a more budget/youthful route and try to replicate the success of teams like Cloud9.

I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad move, as they have some strong native players across the top of the map in V1per, Santorin, and even Pobelter. Keeping those three would allow them to open up and go after some young, undeveloped foreign ADC talent like Lawrence “Lost” Sze Yuy Hui or FBI and add a young import support (they could keep the Oceania theme by going after someone like MAMMOTH’s Destiny or another up-and-coming support we saw at worlds like MEGA’s PoP).

In any case, WildTurtle has been one of the more underwhelming NA ADCs in the last few years. I don’t think he has a home in the LCS unless he improves significantly.
