G2 Esports – Nowhere

Yes, we did literally just say that the rules of the game are to pinpoint weaknesses for every team. Yes, that means picking out a role/player for all ten LEC teams. Yes, we’re clearly going against those rules with G2 Esports, but can you blame us?

This five-man roster is the most skilled, most entertaining, and the most successful line-up European League of Legends has ever seen. To split them up and not see what they could achieve after a full year of experience and growth together would be a tragedy and something I’m not even willing to speculate about.

There’s no doubt that G2 should have performed much better in the World Championship final against FunPlus Phoenix and just the 3-0 scoreline being marked down in the history books is almost merciful to G2 considering how devastating the loss actually was. Even with all of that, you would still put your money on this team coming back stronger in 2020 ten times out of ten.

Wunder needs to compete with international top laners, Jankos can’t allow junglers like Tian to roll over him in the future, Caps needs a smaller champion pool, Perkz needs a larger champion pool, and Mikyx needs wrist surgery.

Despite all of these flaws, there’s absolutely no way you, I, or any other EU fan would trade out a G2 player in their current form and will be relishing what’s to come in the future as they look to make it four LEC titles in a row, back-to-back MSI triumphs, and improve on their Worlds result in 2020.
