Champion Changes

Braum

"Damage reduction: 70/80/90 ⇒ 80/85/90"

A buff in the early and mid game is very nice for a low-cost unit like Braum, since you can get him to 2-stars quite easily. Running full Warden comps tends not to be very common since it lacks damage and there are just plainly better Wardens (Amumu and Malphite) that you can run. This is nice, but unless full Glacial comps suddenly become strong this is minimally impactful.

Janna

"Stun duration: 1 second ⇒ 1.5 seconds"

The biggest benefit of Janna really isn’t her ult, it’s the Mystic synergy giving bonus MR, and the biggest benefit of her ult isn’t the stun but the displacement and heal. This buff is nice and maybe it’s a slight counter to Assassins/Berserkers, but this doesn’t really change what holds Janna back (Cloud is just not in a great spot).

Kog’Maw

"Damage: 125/275/425 ⇒ 150/300/500"

Certainly a buff to hyper-roll Predators and a buff to Poison. I personally think Kog’Maw could be in a position to replace either Twitch or Berserkers in Poison comps after this buff, especially if you roll him to 3-star. Having the flexibility to either keep a unit and load him with items or dump him with ease late game makes Kog a scary unit.

Leblanc

"Damage: 240/450/800 ⇒ 225/475/800"

Buffs early are good for all you friends of the forest who love the Woodland opening (it’s good, but remember it falls off a cliff at around Round 3). The fact that they didn’t buff her 3-star damage confirms to me that Riot knows that the 6 Woodland comps are a trap comp because it lacks too much damage and is too hard to get.

Lucian

"Damage: 25/30/50% ⇒ 30/40/50%"

This combined with the Light buffs from earlier could actually bring that Light/Soulbound comp back into the meta if this buff goes through.

Lux

"Damage: 600/900/9999 ⇒ 550/900/9999"

50 damage off at 1-star is pretty significant for a strong late game unit, but I think Lux is just too powerful and versatile to not pick in almost any situation.

Olaf

"Attack speed: 100/150/300% ⇒ 100/150/450%"

You are never getting a 3-star Olaf and you should never bank on getting a 3-star Olaf. This buff is meaningless and if you ever get a 3-star Olaf you should immediately buy as many lotto tickets as you can.

Ornn

"Critical strike chance: 20% ⇒ 25% Critical strike duration: 4 seconds ⇒ 10 seconds"

It might make no sense to adjust a tank’s crit chance and duration, but this is a change that is clearly aimed at him using Titan’s Resolve. I don’t think this really matters since Ornn mainly stacks Titan’s Resolve by just soaking damage, but it could help him in some edge cases.

Yorick

"Minion health: 600/800/2000 ⇒ 400/700/2000"

Really big nerf to Yorick’s minions in Patch 10.3, especially at the lower star levels where players are most likely to play or face him. Yorick right now fits into just about any Summoner comp as a frontline/drain tank unit, so hitting his minion health is going to take away that power. He’s often swapped for Annie in that role, so this nerf could actually push Annie into the meta more outside of Inferno comps.
