Jax is one of the OG League of Legends champions. Released back in the Alpha version of the game in 2009, he has stood the test of time to be a mainstay of the top lane for over a decade, with minimal changes to his kit. With such a long lifespan, you would expect that Jax would have more than just eleven skins, but that is all that is available to League of Legends players.

With half of those skins being rare and/or in the legacy vault, unavailable for normal purchase, there truly aren’t a lot of Jax skins for players to choose from. However, if you’re in the market for a new Jax skin, or when the legacy vault is opened, here is our ranking of the best Jax skins for the Grandmaster at Arms.

League of Legends Skins – 11. Vandal Jax

Price: 520 RP

This skin is one of his oldest, but it just has no theme, no flair, and really no special reason to buy it. I hardly ever see players using this skin and if I was to get it from a chest I’d probably immediately disenchant for that orange essence.

League of Legends Skins – 10. Warden Jax

Price: 750 RP

The whole Warden skin line was thoroughly underwhelming, in my opinion, and this one was no different. He’s basically just in a suit of armor and there are no unique special effects.

League of Legends Skins – 9. Nemesis Jax

Price: 975 RP

This is also known as the purple Jax skin (he’s purple, his lamp glows purple, it’s a whole thing). I mean, I guess the effects are nice but for 975 RP there are way better skins you can get for him and other champions.

For instance, the Jaximus skin at the same price point is cleaner-looking and cooler. Extra points for the Gladiator reference and for being the only skin dedicated to a Make a Wish Foundation kid who got to tour Riot before tragically passing away. Here’s to you, kid.

League of Legends Skins – 7. PAX Jax

Price: Unavailable

This is one of the rarest skins not just for Jax but in League of Legends. You could only get this skin if you attended the PAX gaming convention way back in 2010, so there are only a few players who have the skin.

That said…the skin itself is pretty meh. Wear it to show off the swag that you’re an OG League of Legends player, but it’s not going to impress anyone who doesn’t know the history of the skin.

League of Legends Skins – 6. SKT T1 Jax

Price: 750 RP

This was the skin awarded to then-SKT T1 top laner Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong for being a part of the Season 3 team that won the World Championship. While it’s cool knowing that history of the skin, it’s not that cool to look at.

League of Legends Skins – 5. The Mighty Jax

Price: 520 RP

This ice hockey-themed skin was released back during the 2010 Olympics when Riot released skins for major sporting events (there was also a World Cup-themed skin line as well). I think this skin, especially for an older one, is incredibly cool and I like that Riot turned his lamp into a hockey stick. For the price point and how inventive it is, this is an empty netter.

League of Legends Skins – 4. Temple Jax

Price: 750 RP

I like to call this one the “Rasta Jax” because it often looks like he is wearing one of those rasacaps. A lot of players use this skin and I understand why. It just looks funny.

League of Legends Skins – 3. Mecha Kingdoms Jax

Price: 1820 RP

With how Riot has developed their skin design over the past decade, you would expect his newest skin to be one of the best. The Mecha Kingdoms skin looks about as good as you can imagine, with a sleek design and new animations (I particularly like the little drones that follow him when he homeguards out of the base). The only thing keeping this from being the best of his skins is the high price point.

League of Legends Skins – 2. God Staff Jax

Price: 1350 RP

This has to be one of the most popular Jax skins in League of Legends and it looks gorgeous. The champion has the look of being an ascended god with his glowing armor and lamp and the new animations completely play into this. Easily one of his best skins and it’s at a reasonable price point.

League of Legends Skins – 1. Angler Jax

Price: 975 RP

That said, there was really only one choice for the best of Jax’s skins, the one that replaced his lamp with a fishing pole. Even though this is an older skin, there is just something so satisfying about the look of the champion and the animations on this skin, which is probably why it remains one of his most popular skins.
