Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng (ADC, TSM)

There really was no other choice for the final player poised for a comeback in Summer 2020. This past spring wasn’t just a poor one for Doublelift in terms of his play, but also his personal life as we learned more details about just how fractured his relationship with teammates on Team Liquid had become.

Doublelift had one of the worst splits of his life and was, at several points this spring, the lowest-graded ADC in the LCS. He was just straight-up bad in those first few weeks prior to his benching. To his credit, after the benching he actually did improve somewhat (likely as the meta began to shift more towards a style he was comfortable playing) but the damage was already done.

With all the pressure and scrutiny now firmly on him, Doublelift has a lot to prove to the haters in Summer 2020, and I think he’s poised to do it. He’s swapping back to a familiar support in Biofrost, who he had great synergy with throughout his tenure on TSM, and he has synergy with mid laner Bjergsen. Most importantly, there’s the revenge factor.

Every time Doublelift gets “kicked” or leaves a team, he always comes back with a vengance to prove the doubters wrong. His poor attitude may have doomed Team Liquid in the spring, but you can guarantee he won’t be taking Summer 2020 lightly, as he looks to cement his legacy as one of the greatest to ever play in the LCS.
