Every team in the LCS has one big question going into Summer 2020.

Team Liquid

Question: Can they get the magic back?

TL should be coming into Summer 2020 as the five-time LCS champions, gearing up for a strong run to Worlds in the fall. Instead, they’re coming off a Spring Split in which they missed the playoffs and now have to wonder if they will even be at Worlds.

This squad still has the talent and drive of those teams that won all those titles, even after losing Doublelift. And I have little doubt that their new ADC Edward “Tactical” Ra can perform at least competently with support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in for a whole split. The biggest question is whether players like Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen, Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong, and Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen can step up into that void to re-capture that same mojo Team Liquid has had for the last two years.

TSM

Question: Can Spica improve?

TSM made two big moves in the offseason as they look to capitalize on an up-and-down Spring Split. The first, acquiring their old ADC Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng was absolutely an upgrade as he will have immediate synergy with his former teammates Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg and Vincent “Biofrost” Wang.

Their second roster move, dropping Dardoch in favor of rookie Mingyi “Spica” Lu is far riskier. He will be the one factor that can hold this team back from making Worlds if he doesn’t improve on his play from spring in Academy.
