A Tier Items
These items are generally strong but might not be able to be used on every champion in Teamfight Tactics. In the right hands, though, these items are ultra-powerful.
5. Infinity Edge
Use: It can be used on any auto-attacker who can do high damage.
Optimal users: Jhin, Jinx, Vayne, Master Yi, Zed, Shaco, Irelia, Kog’Maw.
6. Rabadon’s Deathcap
Use: Increase the power of your ability. This can not only increase the damage from abilities but the power of shields.
Optimal users: Darius, Riven, Ezreal, Illaoi, Poppy, Ziggs, Cassiopeia, Viktor, Gangplank, Syndra, Xerath.
7. Morellonomicon
Use: Whereas Rabadon’s is better for champions that have big, impactful ults but a high mana cost on it, Morellonomicon is better for champions that either spit out a lot of damage quickly with their ability or do their ability’s damage in a large area of effect.
Optimal users: Cassiopeia, Gangplank, Ziggs, Rakan, Teemo, Viktor.
8. Bramble Vest
Use: This is the quintessential “offensive-defensive” tool, that is to say it’s best on any tank that’s being used as your primary carry.
Optimal users: Poppy, Jayce, Rumble/Fizz/Annie (for the Mech), Xin Zhao, Mordekaiser, Gnar.
9. Blue Buff
Use: Blue Buff is best on champions who rely on their ult to do damage and have low mana costs. As a general rule, don’t use Blue Buff on any champions with an ability mana cost over 70. One exception to this rule is on champions like Darius and Irelia, who will reset their ability when they get a kill.
Optimal users: Cassiopeia, Ziggs, Ahri, Syndra, Teemo, Viktor.
10. Dragon’s Claw
Use: This is probably the best defensive item to pair with Bramble Vest because with just the Vest you are quite vulnerable to magic damage.
Optimal users: Any tank.
11. Guinsoo’s Rageblade
Use: Best on any auto-attack heavy champion because it will ramp up their attack speed and thus ramp up their damage over time.
Optimal users: Vayne, Jinx, Master Yi, Kog’Maw.
12. Spear of Shojin
Use: Like Blue Buff, Shojin is meant to help users get their abilities back up more quickly. Unlike Blue Buff, though, Shojin is better on champions that can attack a lot and have higher mana costs.
Optimal users: Twisted Fate, Rakan, Gangplank, Lulu, Soraka, Urgot.
13. Red Buff
Use: Like Morellonomicon, Red Buff cuts healing, but this is applied through auto-attacking. Any champion that autos a lot can use Red Buff, but it’s particularly good on Blasters (when put together they fire additional shots that apply Red Buff) or on any champion who also has Ruunaan’s Hurricane (the bolts apply Red Buff).
Optimal users: Lucian, Jinx, Vayne, Kog’Maw, Ekko.
