LCS Summer 2020 Week 2 is in the books, here is where the teams sit in our LCS power rankings.

8. 100 Thieves (1-3)

Elo: 283 (+97)

The team that managed to win the first “Losers Bowl” of the season, 100 Thieves has already played most of the toughest teams in the LCS, having faced C9, Team Liquid, and Evil Geniuses, so they might be a stronger team than their record indicates. Next week they’ll face CLG and TSM, which will be a great litmus test for them.

7. Golden Guardians (1-3)

Elo: 322 (-54)

Losing the CLG game in Week 2 was certainly a kick in the shins for a Golden Guardians team that would have loved to prove they belong in the upper-echelon of teams. It likely hurts even more given how impressive of a fight they put up against Cloud9 in their second game of the week.

That’s not to say that GGS should be thrilled with dropping that game, but they did manage to keep the game even for the first 20 minutes or so. It’s even more encouraging that they were able to get that strong early-game going through Damonte and Closer. That’s a duo I’m excited to see develop and be the heart of a strong Golden Guardians team.

6. TSM (2-2)

Elo: 326 (-51)

A lot of people are down on TSM after their disappointing loss to FlyQuest, which could have been a statement game. However, the draft in that game was so god-awful I’m willing to give them a bit more flexibility. They’re playing Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves next week, so winning either of those games would show the team still has life in them.

Their two wins have come at the expense of the two worst teams in the LCS, yes, but I’m encouraged by how strong they’ve looked in doing it. While there were some hiccups in those games, they basically got the lead early and consistently built it, which is what you would like to see a decent-to-good team do against bad teams. Now they need to start doing it against better teams.
