Our LCS Week 2 player power ranking ranks the mid laners.

Mid Lane

1. Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro (Evil Geniuses)
2. Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage (FlyQuest)

The Notorious P.O.E. is back to his massive damage-dealing ways after his Week 2 performance. Orianna is certainly a strong teamfighter, but doing over 600 damage per minute in their win over Dignitas was pretty eye-opening. Now, through two weeks, PowerofEvil leads all mids in damage per minute (554) and damage contribution (28.3%).

3. Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer (Cloud9)
4. Tanner “Damonte” Damonte (Golden Guardians)
5. Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen (Team Liquid)
6. Eugene “Pobelter” Park (CLG)
7. Jérémy “Eika” Valdenaire (Immortals)

Eika gets a lot of flak for being a more passive mid laner, but honestly there isn’t much around him that he can work with. Eika has the second-highest kill participation (38.9%) of all mid laners behind only Jiizuke despite the fact that he only averages 1.8 kills per game (and 1.5 assists per game).

His adjusted KDA of 0.62 is the worst in his role, even lower than ry0ma and Froggen, but at least those two have other players performing well. The Immortals roster is just so fundamentally flawed (in its current iteration, please bring back Apollo and Hakuho) that replacing Eika with a top-tier mid laner wouldn’t really change their fortunes.

8. Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg (TSM)
9. Tommy “ry0ma” Le (100 Thieves)
10. Henrik “Froggen” Hansen (Dignitas)

After being consistently one of the best carry mid laners in the LCS, Froggen has hit a wall of trouble through two weeks of the Summer Split. He is still one of the heavier-resource mid laners (taking 25.1% of his team’s gold, despite having a bottom-four GPM) only to do the third-lowest adjusted DPM of all LCS mids.

Froggen gets criticized for being too reliant on his Orianna pick. This week, on Leblanc and Twisted Fate, he looked extremely uncomfortable. He only did 9k damage (about 270 DPM) in his game on Twisted Fate, which is 100 lower than the average DPM of other TF players in major regions across the world.
