Our LCS Summer 2020 Week 3 player power ranking ranks the supports and we hand out our weekly awards.

Support

1. Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme (Cloud9)

The owner of the highest adjusted KDA in the LCS, Vulcan as surrendered just three deaths in C9’s six games, tied for the lowest in the league. That said, you’d like to see his kill participation (68.8%), as that is currently one of the lowest among supports.

2. Tristan “Zeyzal” Stidam (Evil Geniuses)
3. Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in (Team Liquid)
4. Lee “Ignar” Dong-geun (FlyQuest)
5. Vincent “Biofrost” Wang (TSM)
6. Nickolas “Hakuho” Surgent (Immortals)

Even more impressive than his lane partner, Hakuho’s return was marked by a 1/4/15 scoreline that included 100% kill participation in their loss to C9. With over 84% kill participation over the two games (he was 13/16 against Golden Guardians), I don’t see Hakuho losing that starting spot again.

7. Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black (Dignitas)

One of the last remaining “OG” starters from Dignitas’s Summer Split roster, I do have to give Aphromoo some respect just as I did his lane partner Johnsun last week. After a few absolutely terrible seasons, Aphromoo appears to have found his form again, with a respectable 2.3 deaths and 20% death share, far lower than his numbers from last split and the average for supports this split.

8. Choi “huhi” Jae-hyun (Golden Guardians)
9. Andy “Smoothie” Ta (CLG)
10. William “Stunt” Chen (100 Thieves)

The last LCS player who will be subbed out next week, it’s obviously never fun to see a promising young player not pan out. Unfortunately, that appears to be the case for Stunt, who had the highest death share (28.6%) among all supports this year and the most average deaths in his role. Now we’ll see if another promising rookie, Poome, can synergize with Cody Sun for greater success.

11. Austin “Gate” Yu (Immortals)

All-LCS Team Week 3

Here are the best-performing players this week in each position. This is in contrast to the player rated number one in his position, which is based on their play over the year as a whole.
