Let’s look at all the changes coming to TFT in Patch 10.14!

Tier 5 Champions

Aurelion Sol

"Mana Drain: 15/25/50 ⇒ 10/15/50 Mobilize the Fleet Damage: 110/150/1000 ⇒ 90/150/1000"

Aurelion Sol has been one of the stronger late game units thanks to his mana drain, but that’s what Riot chose to buff. The damage is only being nerfed at 1-star so it’s not even that much of a compensation nerf. Overall it’s a buff, but with Jinx falling out the meta Rebels should be a bit weaker.

Janna

"Attack Speed Bonus: 100/150/500 ⇒ 80/125/500%"

Janna is a very strong “versus all” unit that you can plug into almost any comp. That said, the attack speed bonus is not one of the primary reasons you’re picking her. She’ll still be such a strong unit that she can go into a lot of different comps.

Urgot

"Armor: 30 ⇒ 40 Magic Resist: 20 ⇒ 40 Attack Range: 660 ⇒ 420 Starting/Total Mana: 40/90 ⇒ 50/100"

Urgot is getting a bunch of changes, so we’ll deal with them in pieces. First, the stat changes.

Gaining 10 armor, 20 MR, and 10 mana (both base and total) in exchange for one hex of attack speed is pretty comparable. Overall, I think it’s a wash because all those stat changes are negated by losing the safety of extra attack range. The mana changes are probably the biggest thing keeping these changes more towards a buff than nerf.

"Spell Targeting: Farthest within Attack Range ⇒ Farthest Spell now hits the first enemy it collides with instead of always hitting its intended target. Damage is now preventable (a unit with Guardian Angel will revive)."

The change in spell targeting and making the damage now preventable are both massive nerfs, but the change so that the spell will drag the first unit hit is gigantic. It effectively means that all the backline carries are almost always going to be protected from your first ult cast.

"Mana Reduction per cast: 10/20/90 ⇒ 20/30/100 Time to reel the enemy in now scales with Star Level. Reel Duration: 1.5 sec ⇒ 3/2/1 second(s)"

In addition, Urgot’s ability now has more mana reduction per cast, allowing you to get more abilities off in each round. However, with the reel duration going up at both 1-star and 2-stars also negates that, since the extra time stuck in the animation is time that Urgot could be using to auto attack enemies

Items

Giant Slayer

"Now does (premitigation) damage that matches its damage type (physical or magic)."

I don’t really know if this matters because you’re not really planning on building Giant Slayer on magic damage-heavy champions.

Ionic Spark

"Magic Resist shred: 50% ⇒ 40%"

Ionic Spark has been an incredibly strong item for a few patches now, so nerf was warranted. A 10% reduction on MR shred is absolutely massive and it might take the item out of the meta entirely.
