Our LCS Summer 2020 Week 4 player power ranking ranks the mid laners.

Mid Lane

1. Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage (FlyQuest)
2. Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer (Cloud9)
3. Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen (Team Liquid)
4. Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg (TSM)

Your Player of the Week for Week 4, Bjergsen absolutely popped off with a 2/0/6 game on Twisted Fate against Golden Guardians, basically acting as a second jungler for his team and snowballing his bot lane to an easy win. Then, the next game he was TSM’s biggest carry going 9/2/6 on Azir, out-damaging by Doublelift on Aphelios by more than 10k, and propelling TSM to victory.

5. Tommy “Ry0ma” Le (100 Thieves)
6. David “Insanity” Challe (Immortals)
7. Eugene “Pobelter” Park (CLG)
8. Jérémy “Eika” Valdenaire (Immortals)
9. Tanner “Damonte” Damonte (Golden Guardians)
10. Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro (Evil Geniuses)

Jiizuke did not have a banger game against FlyQuest (#Livevil) as he went 0/5/2 on Kog’Maw and did only 1,000 damage more than Ornn and only 2,000 damage more that his team’s Yuumi. The next game against Immortals wasn’t nearly as bad stat-wise, but he had quite a few “qustion-mark” ping plays on Orianna including that bizarre flash to try and steal the dragon that nearly cost them the game.

11. Kim “Fenix” Jae-hun (Dignitas)

Oh lord. Fenix returns to the LCS to replace the struggling (to put it mildly) Froggen and somehow looks even worse than the player he’s replacing. The only reason I rate Fenix above Froggen is that, with only a two-game sample size there is the possibility that he can rebound and put up better stats with additional games.

That said, here are all the stats in which Fenix is dead last for mid laners: deaths per game (4.5), kill participation (46.4%), kill share (11.8%), death share (25%), gold per minute (334), gold share (20.4%), damage per minute (366), and vision score per minute (0.66). Some of those stats are actually unfathomable. Having a kill participation below 50% as a mid laner is ridiculously bad, considering the second-lowest KP for mids is over 62% (Jiizuke).

And none of this is even getting into the specifics of his horrifically bad Twisted Fate game, where he was constantly over-extended or teleporting in terrible spots. Ending the game 1/5/2 was honestly a miracle and makes the game look far better than his play actually was.

12.Henrik “Froggen” Hansen (Dignitas)
