LCS Summer 2020 Week 5 is in the books, here is where the teams sit in our  LCS power rankings.

5. Evil Geniuses (5-5)

Elo: 372 (-57)

Once the darlings of the LCS this split, EG has been in a free-fall in the last few weeks and it only got worse in Week 5. Golden Guardians and CLG are no slouches, don’t get me wrong, but EG needs to win those games if they want to be in that top tier of teams. In fact, had they won either game, they’d be in a tie for third rather than a game back.

The good news is that there is no particular player that’s at fault for these losses. It’s not as though they threw some big leads or anything. The problem is that, simply, they’re not able to get and extend early game leads, which was one of the team’s strengths last split.

4. CLG (5-5)

Elo: 387 (+15)

The best of the 5-5 teams in our LCS power rankings, CLG split their games this week by losing to Team Liquid and taking the win over Evil Geniuses. That puts them firmly in that fourth spot with some breathing room (in terms of their elo) over the other teams with the same record. That said, they still clearly view their team as needing some work as we go deeper into Summer 2020.

This week was notable for CLG subbing in Academy top laner Deus in place of Ruin. For his debut, Deus looked decent, but not game-changing good. We’ll have to see if they stick with the rookie or go back to Ruin next week when they have two easily-winnable games against Dignitas and Immortals.
