LCS Summer 2020: Week 6 Player Power Ranking
By Josh Tyler
Our LCS Summer 2020 Week 6 player power ranking ranks the mid laners.
Mid Lane
1. Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen (Team Liquid) – 89.7
2. Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage (FlyQuest) – 85.8
3. Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg (TSM) – 83.2
4. Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro (Evil Geniuses) – 82.6
5. Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer (Cloud9) – 81.2
6. Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer (Evil Geniuses) – 80.9
Okay, I’m prepared to eat some crow on this one. I didn’t think Goldenglue was going to be worth the tradeoff to get Huni into the line-up, but he played one heck of a Zoe game in their win over Cloud9. It’s a small sample size, to be sure, and his other game against Team Liquid was quite underwhelming, but overall it was a good weekend for Goldenglue that ultimately got him rewarded with a contract for the rest of the year on Evil Geniuses.
7. David “Insanity” Challe (Immortals) – 80.1
Even though Insanity put up some decent scorelines last week, those can’t overshadow just how bad his laning was. Yes, he was put on scaling champions (AP Kog’Maw and Karthus mid) but he was still facing two below-average laners in Pobelter and Damonte. There’s no reason for him to be behind by 800 and 400 gold to each of them, respectively, at 15 minutes.
On the year, Insanity averages the worst gold differential (-940) and CS differential (-10) at 15 minutes of all mid laners. His decent gold counts and damage outputs are largely thanks to his teammates funneling him gold after 15 minutes. If he could improve his laning so that he wasn’t so reliant on late game, he and Immortals might be able to reach another level of play.
8. Eugene “Pobelter” Park (CLG) – 79.9
9. Jérémy “Eika” Valdenaire (Immortals) – 79.7
10. Tommy “Ry0ma” Le (100 Thieves) – 77.5
11. Kim “Fenix” Jae-hun (Dignitas) – 77.4
11. Tanner “Damonte” Damonte (Golden Guardians) – 73.1
12.Henrik “Froggen” Hansen (Dignitas) – 67.9
