Champions: 20 Champs Who Dominate Pro Play but Suck in Solo Queue
By Josh Tyler
Why do these champions dominate pro play but suck in solo queue?
13. Nidalee
Why she’s good in pro play: When the meta and matchups suit her Nidalee is one of the fastest-clearing junglers in League of Legends. She also has crazy mobility and terrain traversal (meaning, like Lee Sin, she can get off ganks from less-obvious angles) as well as healing for herself and teammates. Oh, and then there’s that ridiculous spear damage she has.
Why she sucks in solo queue: Once again, this is a champion that is very difficult to operate and pilot for regular players. Just clearing jungle camps with Nidalee can be difficult for lower-elo players and you really need to know your spots when you choose to jump in after landing a spear. There’s also the matter of Nidalee being one of the less proactive early game junglers and the fact that she can get bullied quite easily if she falls behind due to an invade or bad gank.
14. Sejuani
Why she’s good in pro play: Often the best tank jungler in League of Legends, Sejuani offers a team tons of crowd control as well as ranged initiation with her ult. That, along with her passive, makes any gank she starts result in at least a flash blown. She also has a fairly decent early clear.
Why she sucks in solo queue: Tanks just generally don’t have as much influence in solo queue because they require you to have competent teammates playing the carry roles. Hitting a long range ultimate on Sejuani does no good if your ADC never auto attacks the person you hit.
