LCS Summer 2020: Week 8 Player Power Ranking
By Josh Tyler
Our LCS Summer 2020 Week 8 player power ranking ranks the junglers.
Jungle
1. Robert “Blaber” Huang (Cloud9) – 95.4
Of all the players who let C9 down this week, it’s really hard to blame Blaber. He had an 82.5% kill participation this week (not easy to do on Trundle and Volibear) to go along with his 7/4/7 scoreline. He was there supporting his team, they just weren’t able to output the damage and secure the kills.
While he’s being slept on by many pundits for the MVP award in favor of some “sexier” picks like CoreJJ, Bjergsen, or even his teammate Nisqy, right now Blaber is probably still my pick. He continues to dominate other junglers in the early game, averaging gold and XP differentials at 15 of +733 and +631 respectively.
2. Can “Closer” Çelik (Golden Guardians) – 88.2
3. Juan Arturo “Contractz” Garcia (100 Thieves) – 85.7
4. Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen (FlyQuest) – 85.2
5. Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett (Dignitas) – 81.9
6. Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen (Team Liquid) – 80.8
Broxah’s gotten his fair share of criticism from the LCS viewing community, but time to give credit where it’s due. He looked absolutely awesome in Week 8, going deathless in wins over Dignitas and CLG (he went 5/0/28 overall). Yes, that is not exactly the stiffest of competition, facing Wiggily and Dardoch, but a good week is a good week.
As of Week 8, Broxah now has the highest adjusted KDA of all LCS junglers at 3.84, one of only two with an aKDA over 3.00 (the other is Santorin at 3.21). While his kills and kill participation are still a bit too low for my liking and his damage-to-gold ratio is the lowest of all junglers, Broxah has proven to be a capable, solid jungler for Team Liquid. Just like Xmithie, the guy he replaced.
7. Matthew “Akaadian” Higginbotham (Dignitas) – 79.1
8. Jake “Xmithie” Puchero (Immortals) – 77.2
9. Raymond “Wiggily” Griffin (CLG) – 76.2
10. Mingyi “Spica” Lu (TSM) – 75.4
11. Joseph “Potluck” Pollock (Immortals) – 74.8
12. William “Meteos” Hartman (100 Thieves) – 73.6
13. Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen (Evil Geniuses) – 70.6
