Awards

Most Improved: Tactical

It’s between him and Insanity for Rookie of the Split in my mind, and it’s crazy to me how little credit he’s getting for revitalizing Liquid’s previously-atrocious bot lane. He and CoreJJ have found great synergy and I’m sure he’s leaning on the veteran, but Tactical has proven himself to be a stellar young ADC on his own.

Most Consistent: Cody Sun

Like Wiggily, consistency isn’t useful when it’s being consistently poor. I guess it’s a good thing that despite the support change midway through the split Cody didn’t get significantly worse. But it’s troubling that he didn’t get any better either.

Most Efficient: FBI

If not for Tactical, FBI would be the runaway pick for most improved and probably best AD Carry. One area where he does best Tactical is in his damage output with over 50 DPM more per minute than Liquid’s ADC.

Best Laner: FBI

Another area where FBI has been exceptional is in his laning, as he posts the largest CSD at 15 minutes (+10) for all AD Carries. While Tactical does beat him out in gold and experience differentials at 15, FBI barely edges the win here based on having fewer unforced deaths.

Worst Laner: Stixxay

Having a veteran duo in your bot lane, CLG really needed to get more out of Stixxay and Smoothie than an average gold deficit of -561 at 15 minutes. With CLG already blowing up their coaching staff, I wouldn’t be surprised if their longest-tenured player followed them.

Most Mistake-Prone: Cody Sun

Similar to Stixxay, you’d hope that a veteran wouldn’t give away as many needless deaths as Cody did this year. Yet, here he was surrendering the most unforced deaths of any bot laner this split.

Biggest Disappointment: Zven

Amidst Cloud9’s struggles, not a lot of attention is being paid to the fact that, although his lane partner has still played quite well, Zven has been struggling in the Summer Split. For a guy who was considered an MVP candidate and ready to claim the spot as the best ADC in NA just a few months ago, this drop off to “good-to-very good ADC” is quite alarming for C9 fans.
