This is a list of the 5 best bot laners in League of Legends on Patch 10.17

Opinions remain divided on the current state of the bot lane in League of Legends. Half of the player base believes the role is underpowered and useless. The other half believes that ADCs are more than capable of carrying games. One thing is for sure though, the 5 best bot laners on Patch 10.17 are a constant threat both during the laning phase and late game teamfights.

Patch 10.17 – or Patch 10.16b – was a relatively small patch but still had plenty of room for some bot lane changes. This included a movement speed nerf for Caitlyn, a Supercharge buff for Kai’Sa, a Prismatic Barrier nerf for Lux, an attack speed buff for Varus, and an attack damage buff for Xayah.

Here are the 5 best bot laners on Patch 10.17 along with their main strengths and weaknesses:

5) Draven

51.07% Win Rate | 4.6% Pick Rate | 3.6% Ban Rate

Strengths: Once ahead, Draven is an unstoppable damage machine who is capable of nearly one-shotting every champion in League of Legends during the opening 20 minutes of the game.

Weaknesses: However, it is essential that the Glorious Executioner finds an early gold lead or he will be nowhere near as effective as his bot lane counterpart throughout the game.

4) Vayne

50.15% Win Rate | 10.7% Pick Rate | 9.1% Ban Rate

Strengths: Vayne is often jokingly referred to as the queen of highlight plays and montage clips but her primary strength is her ability to self-peel and destroy opponents during teamfights.

Weaknesses: Silver Bolts is an extremely valuable tool during tank metas due to its percentage health damage. However, tank champions are few and far between in the current meta, making Vayne much less effective than usual.

3) Lux

61.76% Win Rate | 1.7% Pick Rate | 6.1% Ban Rate

Strengths: While Lux’s immense win rate could just be a residual from the Lux-Sona bot lane of Patch 10.16, it is still possible to play the Lady of Luminosity in the bot lane role. Last hitting minions and poking enemy champions with a single, long-range spell makes Lux a powerful bot lane menace.

Weaknesses: With no escape tools in her kit, Lux is incredibly vulnerable to hard crowd control and ganks during the early stages of the game. To prevent her from falling too far behind early, two defensive summoner spells (Flash & Barrier/Cleanse/Heal) is highly recommended.

2) Ashe

51.71% Win Rate | 20.9% Pick Rate | 12.7% Ban Rate

Strengths: Outside of her remarkable late game damage, Ashe is also capable of finding important picks with her ultimate ability, Enchanted Crystal Arrow. Paired with follow up crowd control, this tool is excellent at creating numbers advantages and extending a gold lead during the mid game.

Weaknesses: Ashe’s tiny auto attack range and lack of escape tools cause her to be incredibly vulnerable. The Frost Archer is often forced to use her ultimate defensively to avoid being shut down and removed from a fight before it can even begin.

1) Caitlyn

52.35% Win Rate | 30.6% Pick Rate | 49.0% Ban Rate

Strengths: Complete. Lane. Control. Caitlyn has skyrocketed to the peak of the bot lane tier list over recent patches due to her ability to dictate, control, and dominate the laning phase thanks to her unmatched auto attack range.

Weaknesses: Caitlyn struggles when facing a hard engage bot lane, such as Draven/Miss Fortune and Leona/Pyke. Although she can keep her distance and avoid a fight for a while, it’s only a matter of time before her opponents decide to take matters into their own hands.
