We have our first look at TFT: Fates, so let’s break down every single trait coming to Set 4.

9. Enlightened

Description: Enlightened champions generate 40/70/100% additional mana (2/4/6/ units).

Champions

  • Nami (1g)
  • Fiora (1g)
  • Janna (2g)
  • Irelia (3g)
  • Talon (4g)
  • Morgana (4g)

Thoughts: This class’s bonus is internal, meaning it doesn’t affect other units in the comp. It also only helps those units get their spells out quicker, so this is basically going to just be a splash trait unless your comp is built around one of these champions. You’ll almost never be going for a full-Enlightened comp.

10. Fortune

Description: Winning combat against a player will give bonus orbs. The longer you’ve gone without an orb, the bigger the payout (3 units).

Champions

  • Tahm Kench (1g)
  • Annie (2g)
  • Katarina (3g)
  • Jinx (3g)
  • Sejuani (4g)

Thoughts: This is a better version of Space Pirates, in my opinion, but it will all depend on how big the payouts can get. If you’re getting a grey orb every time you’re on a winstreak, though, that’s potentially 2-3 gold at a minimum which is probably what you were getting from Space Pirates.

11. Exile

Description: If an Exile has no adjacent allies at the start of combat, they gain a shield/a shield and 100% lifesteal (1/2 units)

Champions

  • Yasuo (1g)
  • Yone (5g)

Thoughts: An oldie returns to TFT from Set 1 as Yasuo brings his brother Yone into the Arena! Back in Set 1, you basically didn’t care about the Exile trait other than for positioning and I assume that will be the case here, so this Origin is basically meaningless.

12. The Boss

Description:  When The Boss first drops to 40% health, he removes himself from combat to start doing sit-ups. Each sit-up restores 15% Health and gives him 20% Attack Speed. If he reaches full health he returns to combat Pumped Up, converting his basic attack and spell damage to True Damage. If all of his allies die, he will immediately return to combat.

Champions

  • Sett (5g)

Thoughts: While this seems troll, if you sacrifice Sett early and get him back into the fray after he’s gotten pumped up, this could be a monster of a buff. However, it’s a one-unit buff so it’s not really a prized Origin.

13. Tormented

Description: Innate: After participating in three combats, Tormented are given the option to transform.

Champions

  • Kayn (5g)

Thoughts: Like all other one-unit buffs, this Origin is only strong if Kayn is strong. It’s a bit irrespective of the buff itself, but more on how strong Kayn is before and after the transform.
