Could some of the other common landing spots for Licorice work?

Other Options

There are many who will wonder why there was no discussion of teams like Liquid or Team SoloMid. The reason being is that the issues with those teams have little to nothing to do with who their current top laner is. In fact, I personally consider BrokenBlade and Impact to be the perfect top laners for their respective team.

Impact has long been a solid laner and has shown up on the international stage every single time. The issues surrounding Liquid have far more to do with a lack of proactivity from the jungle position. Their offseason move should focus on re-signing Jensen and Impact, as well as trying to find a more proactive jungler.

TSM fans have long loathed Broken Blade who has long been the scapegoat for the team’s issues regardless of his play. While Licorice would be an overall upgrade to the team their issues lie in coaching and game approach.

Why buyout Licorice and have a marginal upgrade when the core issue of your team is still unresolved? There is also the issue that after Doublelift’s massive buyout between spring and summer would it be good for TSM’s pocketbook to buyout Licorice as well?

Regardless of which team chooses to pick him up, Licorice is going to be the most contested player in the 2020-21 offseason. Wherever he ends up that team is going to be very happy with their purchase.
