League of Legends: Top Broken Builds to Abuse in Preseason 11
By Josh Tyler
With the new items hitting League of Legends in Preseason 11, here are fifteen builds that have been dominating the Rift.
Support
1. Liandry’s Maokai
With a 57.72% win rate, Maokai is the winningest support on Patch 10.23. He’s always had a good win rate as a niche support pick, but with his full AP support build, Liandry’s into Morellonomicon and/or Demonic Embrace he’s become a juggernaut.
2. Locket Nautilus
While most observers were thinking that Nautilus support might go a greedier build like Chemtank, it turns out that the much more team-oriented build of Locket of the Iron Solari is much more successful. His win rate has climbed to 53.48% and is the first time he’s had a win rate over 50% going back to Patch 10.09!
He’s building about the same, with Locket into Knight’s Vow and/or Zeke’s Convergence. The key is Locket’s passive Consecrate, which grants allies 5 armor and MR, plus the mythic passive, which grants 2 armor and MR for each additional Legendary item he has. This build has also been successful on Thresh and Leona, though not nearly as much.
3. Liandry’s Brand
Not at all surprising that Brand would become a monster in the bot lane given that we’ve seen Liandry’s become incredibly powerful across the lanes. That said, Brand has both a higher win (52.45%) and pick (5.72%) rate than he did at any point in Season 10 as a support.
The build is fairly standard, with Liandry’s into Demonic Embrace/Morellonomicon. However, the main place that Maokai and Brand’s builds differ is that Brand will opt to go into the AP items like Zhonya’s and Rylai’s Crystal Scepter after these first items, whereas Maokai will tend to go for more tank/utility items like Knight’s Vow.
