Evil Gargoyle’s Stoneplate

Recipe: Shadow Chain Vest + Negatron Cloak

"Every 2 seconds, the wearer heals themselves for 60 Health for each unit targeting them."

No longer grants those extra resistances that a front-line tank needs, but it now grants healing. The healing isn’t actually that massive, so it’s overall not an insane upgrade, but this is a pretty good item if your unit gets resistances through their trait or item.

Villain’s Bramble Vest

Recipe: Shadow Chain Vest + Chain Vest

"Grants 200 bonus Armor (including components)."

The Shadow Item loses the critical strike reflection damage in exchange for an extra 150 bonus armor! This is a pure upgrade, as the Shadow variant is now better versus all kinds of physical damage and not just crit users.

Dark Dragon’s Claw

Recipe: Shadow Negatron Cloak + Negatron Cloak

"The wearer cannot take more than 100 damage from a single instance of magic damage."

Just like Bramble Vest, this makes Dragon’s Claw purely better in almost all instances. Limiting the amount of magic damage the holder can take from one instance of magic damage effectively means that no spell can do more than 100 damage. Against high-burst comps that feature, say, a Brand or Vel’Koz carry, this is massive.

Rapid Deathcannon

Recipe: Shadow Recurve Bow + Recurve Bow

"The holder gains +3 Hex Attack Range for 2 Attack(s). Takedowns refresh this bonus. The holder’s Basic Attacks no longer miss."

Deathcannon now becomes a much riskier proposition for your carries, as you’re only getting the bonus for a couple of attacks. If the user has a lot of attack speed, this means that they’re going to walk forward a lot of times rather than attacking. This is generally worse than the vanilla variant because you are losing that guaranteed safety and range for your carry.
