The king returns to claim his throne.

According to reports Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg TSM’s former Head Coach and star mid-laner will be returning to competitive play in the 2022 season. Not far removed from his retirement, his return could be the lightning in a bottle that TSM needs to correct the failures that they suffered in the LCS Championship. But will he remain with TSM upon returning?

In a report from Upcomer, sources say that Bjergsen is eyeing a return in 2022 once his contract expires with TSM on Nov 16. When he retired at the end of 2020 Bjergsen transitioned into his role as TSM’s head coach for the 2021 season. With him manning the helm, the team finished top two in both the Spring and Summer Split.

The kicker however is that the report says he’d like to make a return, no team has been specified though. As co-owner of the franchise, the likely destination for his return would be TSM FTX. But, with the previous success of the franchise maybe he’ll be taking his talents to another team in need of some help.

According to the sources, Bjergsen wants to test the waters in free agency. There are a lot of teams in the LCS that could use a mid-laner of his caliber. But, with the regional integration happening amongst players maybe we could see Bjerg go outside of the NA scene to test his metal against some of the tougher competition in the world.

It’s great to see Bjergsen come back to the competitive scene. Without a doubt, he’s been one of the most electrifying players to come out of the NA region. With so many historic moments cemented in his legacy already let’s hope that there’ll be plenty more to come in the future on whatever team he chooses to join.
