Will we get a Blitzcrank cameo in Arcane?

Given the cast of Arcane and the timeline of the series, it’s possible that the League of Legends champion Blitzcrank might make an appearance. The stage is being set and we’ll just have to see whether Riot takes the opportunity. But a subtle easter egg from the trailer might be the confirmation that the ‘Great Steam Golem’ is on the way.

In the League of Legends lore, Blitzcrank is created by Viktor in an attempt to save the people of Zaun from a chemical outbreak that happens. Blitzcrank saves the lives of thousands before the city is wiped out. Unfortunately, the credit for Blitzcrank is stolen away from Viktor, and he’s driven to a point of self-experimentation.

The stage is being set for Blitzcrank to save the day. Firstly, the two main locations for the series are Piltover and Zaun. Secondly, both Viktor and Jayce are two of the series main characters meaning they’ll likely partner up in some capacity to design the golem. Finally, whatever the serum being used by Silco had turned three civilians into what looked like zombies. Viktor could use Blitzcrank to put a stop to whatever Silco’s plan may be.

In the trailer, there’s a scene where something appears to be breaking through a brick wall. You can see that there’s a light on the other side. However, what’s interesting is that the circular holes that pop out of the wall are two different sizes similar to the original design of Blitzcrank where both of his eyes are asymmetrical. This could be a stretch but it’s like that we’ll be seeing Blitzcrank in the show, the combination of “magic and machine” that Jayce speaks about.

This is all speculation for now but we won’t have to wait too long to find out. All questions will be answered on Nov 6 when the series is made available for streaming on Netflix
