MAD Lions barely manage to hold on to any semblance of playoffs with a last minute upset over Team Vitality while Claps returns to the Rift once again with the forgotten Azir hypercarry.

VIT vs MAD

As a Yasuo and Diana player, this was really hard to watch… Not that Perkz or Selfmade played bad, quite the contrary to be fair, but up against Elyoya’s Poppy it seemed all for naught. The R5 Poppy into Renekton/Diana/Yasuo proved crucial to the MAD Lions’ victory over the Vitality, as Elyoya’s MVP performance kept MAD in the faintest chance of making it into the playoffs so far. The MAD Lions rookies burst into life alongside their more veteran teammates, as Reeker was not a fly on the wall this time with a good Twisted Fate performance while UNF0RGIVEN turned in another stormer of a Jinx game, going virtually untouched while decimating the CC-locked Vitality lineup almost single-handedly. Like I have been saying for the entire split, MAD Lions’ biggest chances of success will always come from their jg/supp duo and Reeker’s ability to make himself relevant throughout the game – let’s see how far the MAD Lions can take this momentum.

G2 vs XL

With the postseason on the horizon, Caps pulls out the Azir against Nukeduck’s Ryze for a classic mage matchup mid lane and scores five last hits in the early game, snowballing out of control and leading G2 to their first win of the Super Week. The G2 mid laner has been receiving quite a bit of heavy criticism for his lack of aggression and carry potency that was frankly synonymous with him for the entirety of his career, and while one game does not erase his lackluster split, it certainly is a step in the right direction as he absolutely obliterates Excel with the somewhat forgotten Azir pick.
