The little train that could finally achieves its destination as Excel Esports complete a historic split and finally make playoffs at the hands of franchise player Patrik. The man has been outstanding for years now and continues to be an ever-present threat with his stable laning and his uncanny teamfighting mechanics. Combined with the addition of Mikyx into the lineup, the XL bot lane has become a legitimate carry threat no matter who their opposition was.

Once again, just because a jungler is low ranked this split doesn’t mean he was necessarily bad. Junglers, aside from top 2, was the most contested role this split, with even 10th place Gilius having 2 BlogOfLegends MVPs to his name. While he has no MVPs, Markoon is the primary engine for Excel, as the rookie plays his first full split out with a fearless mentality and continues to generate plays for his team so that his carries can follow up with damage. If Patrik is like the wheels that carry the Excel car to its destination, Markoon is like the engine that gets it started in the first place. Given his aggressive streak and his penchant for creating plays, I expect a bright future out of this kid and am excited to see what kind of player he is in about three more splits.

A lot of people might be surprised to see Finn, who is ranked 5th as a mid-tier Top laner, have 4 BlogOfLegends MVPs. The Swedish top laner has been hot or cold this split, finding intelligent engages with Malphite, surgically removing opponents from the game with Camille but also picking his signature Irelia and running it down mercilessly. When he pops off, teams can’t handle him –  the only question is whether he pops off in the direction of the enemy team or his own team.
