The weird thing about G2 this split is that you would not have even noticed they are three games away from first given how many doomsayers were spelling the end of this legendary org all split long. As a matter of fact, it is quite stunning how this team was able to place so high despite two of the most legendary Western players of all time slumping all throughout the entire split. It really points to the raw carry potency that the addition of Broken Blade brought, as well as the unparalleled versatility of the unlikely support star in Targarmas, and how these two helped pave the way for a respectable finish despite its slumping legends. Flakked has been a decently good rookie so far; I think he has been getting a lot of unwarranted hate because idiots think that his enormous social media somehow warrants him to be a breakout superstar on his rookie split, but he has been thoroughly serviceable.

While Caps has gotten most of the heat for not living up to his usual self during the regular season, I think Jankos has escaped relatively blame-free given that his slump is more egregious than Caps’. Caps will always have up and down games, and yes he did look pathetic playing a much more passive, risk-averse style, but Jankos was missing altogether from this split. We never did get to see the jungle virtuosos that was a commonplace for the First Blood King in years past – and he did not get better as the split progressed either. He simply functions as a middle of the pack jungler when I have seen the man get MVPs in regular season when the G2 Dream Team was in full swing. Hopefully these two can pick it up in time for playoffs, because this team is definitely a dark horse for this year’s title.
