MAD Lions: 7th place (8-10)

9th Ranked Top: Armut. 1 BlogOfLegends MVP.

3rd Ranked Jng: Elyoya. 4 BlogOfLegends MVPs.

10th Ranked Mid: Reeker. 1 BlogOfLegends MVP.

5th Ranked Bot: UNF0RGIVEN. 2 BlogOfLegends MVPs.

10th Ranked Sup: Kaiser.

We live in a world where Kaiser is actually the worst support in the LEC… Let that sink in for a moment – the man that served as the most consistent engine for the two-time reigning champions now sits at an embarrassing last place. Kaiser’s dropoff is one of two big reasons why the reigning champs don’t even make playoffs this year. His lack of real engage support priority has cost his team some games as well as his lack of awareness in the early-mid game and getting caught out, giving a boost of tempo and gold for the opposition.

Elyoya, the other half of the famed MAD Lions jg/supp duo, shone bright under the less-than-enviable circumstances he found himself in this split, establishing himself as once again an extremely powerful carry jungler. We never did see him and Kaiser link up and take over the map like they did last year, but it is nice to see that the 7th place MAD Lions’ have a top three jungler amidst their ranks.

Reeker and UNF0RGIVEN, rookies debuting on the same team at the same team, could not have had more different first splits. UNF0RGIVEN was a standout in the early weeks before mellowing out for the majority of the split, and kicking it into high gear once again during the MAD Lions’ bittersweet 3-0 run in the last week of the LEC. Reeker did not really match up blow for blow with his EU mid brethren and was only able to find any semblance of relevance with three straight Twisted Fate picks in the Super Week. However, I remain confident in Mac’s coaching and I expect the MAD Lions to come back stronger in the following split.
