Missing Chovy in the midlane, Gen.G relied heavily on Peanut and Ruler to step up and carry them over ShowMaker and Damwon.

Game 1

This game was overall a clinic from Peanut to show that he still is one of the few carry junglers left in Korea. While Canyon and Damwon were able to get some small leads very early thanks to a failed dive bot by Gen.G and some early dragons overall, Peanut’s map presence would dominate this game. Peanut’s Jarvan roamed the map patrolling and controlling the pace of the game leading to a lot of small skirmishes that would come out in favor of Gen.G. The fights were all long-drawn-out ordeals that saw little deaths but Peanut was heavily involved in getting the picks needed to secure every objective possible for his team and, while he lost the first two drakes to Canyon, Gen.G was able to come back and secure four infernal drakes. Damwon’s team composition lacked the damage necessary to deal with Peanut’s Jarvan and Lehends’ Leona leading to many small fight victories for Gen.G that would continue to snowball into Infernal Soul, multiple Barons, an Elder Drake, and finally the game.

Game 2

Game two demonstrated a lot of the strengths out of Damwon as a team through the power they have in both the midlane and the jungle. Canyon’s proactivity on the Xhin Zhao found multiple picks while Showmaker’s Ryze held steady and didn’t allow any opportunity for Gen.G to ever come back in the game. The slow methodical play was used by both sides but Gen.G’s top laner Doran was constantly caught out leading to many small victories for Damwon while DWG Burdol used his Camille for max efficiency able to catch out both Ruler and Doran multiple times. The small victories throughout the game would snowball heavily for Damwon as they used the huge poke from Deokdam’s Ezreal and the pick potential from Camille, Xin Zhao, and Ryze to take control of the game and destroy Gen.G’s nexus.

Game 3

Game three was everything a fan could ask for in a third game in regards to the back and forward nature of it. This saw both teams fighting to secure a lead with no avail as the gold lead for either team would not pass over 1.3k for the first 27 minutes of the game. The game saw many plays being made both actively and reactively. Gen.G would dive the bot lane of Damwon and in response, Damwon would dive the top laner of Gen.G. This was surely a game of tit for tat throughout the first 27 minutes of the game. The momentum of the game would fully shift for Gen.G at the 27-minute mark when a fight breaks out that sees Gen.G’s ADC Ruler deal enormous amounts of damage out of his lethality Xayah that melts both Showmaker and Kellin. This fight gives Gen.G the ability to take baron and start taking over the game. They would use this Baron Power Play to take a 6k gold lead and push the game in their favor. Even with Canyon’s Nidalee dealing loads of damage with her spears the Xayah was too much and would overpower and wipe out the Damwon team in the end for the Gen.G victory.
