Week 2 Day 1 of 2022 LEC Summer continues as Rogue Clap Misfits, followed by Caps having a terrific game on Ahri – and then running it down to give a winless BDS their first dub.

MSF vs RGE

The meta shift has not been kind to Misfits as they fall to 0-4 following a thorough beatdown at the hands of Rogue. I predicted Misfits to not make playoffs this split and so far I look to be right, as the influx of rookies on the back of relatively new sophomores has been a vicious combo to watch, especially a slower meta being reintroduced back into the game.

Rogue bounced back from their tough Week 1 schedule to take care of business as per usual, with Odoamne showing off some fancy one-shots with his Gangplank. Everyone placed well across the board for Rogue, so I gave Odo the MVP for sending Misfits players to the afterlife from half HP with his Parrleys!

G2 vs BDS: Caps Giveth, Caps Taketh

Well, G2 aren’t exactly known for their discipline in regular season as they lose a happy game to the previously winless BDS. BDS were definitely channeling their inner RNG against T1 at MSI Finals with their hard focus on Caps’ Ahri this game, setting up multiple dives with NUCLEARINT and Cinkroff to get the ball rolling.

Their transition from mid/jg prio to topside for Agresivoo’s Irelia was also nice to see, and even though G2 gave them some resistance, BDS were able to go toe-to-toe with the reigning champions, especially with some nice mechanical outplays from Agresivoo, who quietly had himself a massive game.

Caps was wondrous throughout the whole game, finding multiple pickoffs whilst dipping and diving past BDS members in a way that only Caps can ever get away with. That being said, he also cost his team the game when he tried to salvage the last charge on his ultimate by running headfirst and getting nuked by BDS, leading to G2’s first loss of Summer 2022.

MVP: NUCLEARINT (1)
