Riot Games Pride 2023: Unveils pride events, highlights LGBTQIA+ staff

Riot Games Pride 2023 celebrations have been unveiled. Yearly, Riot Games makes a point to recognize and celebrate LGBTQIA+ representation in their staff, as well as the characters in their games who are under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella.

Riot Games revealed all of the new content related to Riot Games Pride 2023, as well as bringing back old Pride content now available for purchase again for a limited time.

Two new Emotes were shown off, featuring K’sante and Vi, two of League’s most iconic LGBTQIA+ champions.

The voice actor for K’sante, DéObia Oparéi, celebrated voicing League’s first LGBTQIA+ back when K’sante was teased in October 2022.

If you equip a Pride icon (past and present) your homeguard trail effect becomes a rainbow trail! Additionally, your profile background on your League of Legends client will have a Pride related background. You can always equip another profile background to replace if you want, while you have the Pride icon still equipped.

Keep in mind the equipped Pride icon will only modify your homeguard trail between June 1st and June 30th, 1 PM PST.

Additionally, Riot celebrated LGBTQIA+ community artists across all of their games. Riot gave the community artists a one word prompt to highlight LGBTQIA+ spirit: fierce. Riot highlighted artists from Legends of Runeterra, VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and League of Legends.

Free (Basically) Summoner Icons

Make sure to go to the store and grab past Pride Emotes, all available for 1 Blue Essence in the store!

To get there, Click the “Shop” icon on towards the top right of your League of Legends client. Navigate to “Accessories” then tick “Summoner Icons.” There, you will see limited availability Summoner Icons to purchase for 1 BE if you don’t already have them.
