League of Legends Patch 13.12 Preview: Zeri nerfs, Rumble changes
League of Legends Patch 13.12 Preview has been teased by Riot Phroxzon on Twitter. Massive Zeri nerfs and a hit to Gragas are some of the highlights.
Keep in mind this is only the patch preview: the real patch is a week away. Tweaks or outright removals of some of these changes can happen once 13.12 is properly released.
League of Legends Patch 13.12 Preview
Matt Leung-Harrison, Lead Designer for the Summoner’s Rift Balance Team, released the 13.12 patch preview on his Twitter. Oftentimes, a week before each patch, the planned changes for the upcoming patch is teased.
To keep up to date with each patch release, make sure to take a look at the yearly patch schedule.
Notable Buffs
KAI’SA: AD/Level: 2 > 2.6
Kai’sa has been struggling when compared to other ADCs. She isn’t super weak by any means, but Phroxzon and the balance are looking to buff Kai’sa’s item evolves to happen sooner.
Phroxzon mentions Kai’sa’s “itemization earflicks” specifically in reference to Kai’sa. If she can hit her Q and E item upgrade points sooner, her consistency as a solo queue champion would hopefully increase.
Notable Nerfs
ZERI: Shield Passive removed – Q no longer procs Sheen – MS: 330 > 335 – E Dmg: 0-65% > 0-85%
Zeri has been incredibly strong since her release in January 2022. In North America Platinum+ solo queue, Zeri sits at a very respectable 50.09% win-rate, with a high pick-rate of 15.6%. Her Q no longer proccing sheen is massive nerf, given her current problematic build of Trinity Force into Titanic Hydra. When Zeri was released, an identical core build of Tri-Force -> Hydra was built, spawning similar player frustration having to deal with her durability, slipperiness, and range.
Getting rid of Zeri’s shield, the sheen proc, as well as her durable build will surely curb her down in power moving into 13.12, forcing Zeri into a new build.
GRAGAS: Passive Cooldown: 8 > 12
Unsuspecting on the surface, these Gragas nerfs will hurt the champion’s sustain in the jungle, and in lane. After any ability is casted, Gragas heals himself for 6.5% of his max health. Increasing this effect’s cooldown by 25% is significant, and will hurt Gragas’ sustain quite a bit.
Keep an eye out for the release of Patch 13.12, scheduled for Wednesday, June 14, 2023!
