It’s the second quarterfinal matchup at Worlds 2023. Gen.G faces Bilibilli Gaming in a battle of the LCK vs the LPL. Let’s recap the action.

Gen.G clinched their spot in the quarterfinals early, while it took Bilibili all five rounds to advance. With Gen.G essentially being the top seed for the Worlds quarterfinals could Billibilli upset the favorites?

Well, it looked possible. Bilibili took the first two games from Gen.G. Strong play from Peng “Xun” Li-Xun with Jarvan contributed to the wins. In game one he finished with a stat line of 5/1/7 while in game two his stat line was 5/0/8. Zhao “Elk” Jia-Hao also played well with back-to-back deathless games going 2/0/5 and then 7/0/2.

Gen.G would need to reverse sweep to save their worlds run. They were up to the task. They took the next two games to even up the series.

Game three was a 46-minute slobber knocker with Gen.G getting strong play from Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan who finished with a 7/1/3 scoreline and Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon who finished with a 5/6/2 score line.

in a win or go home game four Gen.G got an all-arounder effort from everyone in a sound victory. Peyz went 6/3/11 while Doran contributed 15 assists. Han “Peanut” Wang-ho went 6/2/7 while Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon  went 5/2/8. Yoo “Delight” Hwan-joong contributed a game-high 17 assists as well to help Gen.G stave off elimination.

Game three was close and not much action early on. Then at about the 22-minute mark Bilibili won a 2-1 team fight in front of the baron pit. They were however unable to secure the baron. This was only temporary as they won a team fight in the river and then went back to baron and successfully secured it.

This buff allowed Bilibili to take the tier two tower in the top lane and charge into the Gen.G base. Off of this charge they secured a tower, an inhibitor and then the first nexus tower. Gen.G was then able to defend the base and keep them from securing the win.

Bilibili then won a team fight and secured a second baron at the 31:30 mark. This was enough of a buff to win a couple more team fights which allowed Bilibili to take the nexus and win the series.
