24. Kennen

The only other yordle other than Rumble on the list is Kennen, and for plenty of good reasons. He has a great kit that allows him to use multiple abilities simultaneously. While you’re using his E for the speed boost, you can Q, W and R. This permits Kennen to melt enemy teams in teamfights as he can combine each ability together for an AoE Maelstrom — literally.

Unfortunately, Kennen’s only other appearance on this list has been in the Janna video, where he got blown over a wall. This is because his one major downfall is the lack of what he can do when his ultimate is gone. It’s such a huge part of his kit that he relies on it slightly too much. This makes cooldown reduction very strong on him, also because of his use of quickly rechargeable energy as opposed to mana.

There have been a multitude of iterations of builds designed for Kennen players, starting with the old-school item known as Zhonya’s Ring. This essentially was a combination of Rabadon’s Deathcap as well as Zhonya’s Hourglass, and it was remarkably broken. Now, Kennen must save enough gold to purchase both of these items separately, which slows down his build path hugely.

Another possible build path for Kennen includes Rylai’s. This build has been criticized for its strength, however, because he already contains CC in his kit. Stacking of slows over stuns is inefficient and could be seen as a waste of gold. This does not take into account the fact that Kennen could use the boost in health since he is a naturally very squishy character.
