Rogue Warriors have been cannibalized. Their top half LPL roster has been spread to each corner of the league. Mouse and Kiwi didn’t resign their contracts, Flawless has gone to JD Gaming, Doinb to FPX and Smlz to Suning. Their replacements are nowhere near their level and as a result, Rogue Warriors finds themselves dead last in these power rankings.
Jiangqiao is another player who previously played for PRW. He put in a competent performance at NEST 2018 but many of the rosters were temporary so we can’t put too much stock in this tournament. Zhaoyun has been promoted from their sister, RW Shark, we’ll have to see what he’s capable of in the LPL which is the case for much of this team.
It’s the same situation for jungler Xuzhu who came straight from RW Sharks. He played decently in NEST but it doesn’t tell us much about how he’ll stack up against LPL junglers. Most likely poorly given his inexperience.
HuaTian played a few games for RNG’s sister team, Royal Club. He then made the move straight to Rogue Warriors where he’ll be competing against two others for his spot. One of their other mid laners Jiangtian hasn’t even played LDL, he’s legitimately a completely unknown quantity. Finally, KongMing played both 2018 LDL splits with Shadow Cream which makes him the most experienced, though I use that term lightly, and also the player they opted to use the most during NEST.
ZWuJi comes from SHEINOO just like Ale from OMG. This is his only foray into competitive League of Legends so much like the majority of his teammates we don’t know how he’ll perform in the LPL.
The only player RW have held onto is their trusty support Killua. He also holds the dubious title of the best player on the team as a result. Killua is a reliable support and certainly deserves better than the roster that he’s been given. A support leading a group of rookies to success isn’t unheard of, however, perhaps Killua can be a modern-day Yellowstar?
Obviously, since I have placed them last place in these rankings I don’t expect them to put up much of a fight against either JD Gaming or FPX in their opening games. It’s gonna be a sorry season for Rogue Warriors
So there you have it, a primer and power ranking of each of the sixteen teams in the LPL. I for one am very excited about the upcoming split. What do you guys think? Who is the dark horse in the race for the title?
