Buffed champions

Fiora

As we noted above, the buff to her W – Riposte, which made it block the stun from the last proc of abilities like Braum and Kennen’s passive rather than the last stack, didn’t offset the damage done by the Conqueror nerfs.

Tryndamere

Tryndamere could use Conqueror, but is perfectly fine abusing keystones like Press the Attack. Thus, the buff to his E – Spinning Slash (even though it lost 0.2 off it’s AP ratio) enabled him to re-enter the C tier.

Nerfed champions

Riven

She got nerfed along with her favorite keystone, knocking her down to the A+ tier. This will be the first time she is not in our S tier since Patch 9.3.

Vayne

This was more targetted at her utter dominance in the ADC role than her top lane presence, but the nerf to her R – Final Hour had an impact on top lane Vayne. She’s dropped to the C tier, which is probably where an off-meta pick like her belongs.

Conqueror users

The theme of this patch, if you couldn’t tell, is that the nerf to Conqueror (taking 2% off its true damage and healing) has drastically impacted the top lane meta. Here are all the champions that take Conqueror as one of their primary keystones, with their rating compared to Patch 9.9:

• Darius: +0.117
• Hecarim: -0.621
• Irelia: 0.236
• Jax: -0.030
• Kled: +0.064
• Olaf: -0.495
• Renekton: -0.441
• Riven: -0.462
• Tryndamere: +0.104
• Urgot: +0.208
• Yasuo: -0.399
• Yorick: -0.051

So it seems that the nerfs had a very mixed result. Ignoring the champions benefitting from recent buffs or suffering recent nerfs (Aatrox, Akali, Darius, Hecarim, Fiora, Tryndamere, Riven) some champions have suffered greatly (Olaf, Renekton, Yasuo) while others have actually improved (Irelia, Urgot). Then there were some who take Conqueror, but were basically unaffected (Jax, Kled, Yorick).

Overall, I’d say the nerf was successful as preventing champions from “abusing” the keystone. However, I still think Conqueror is in a good spot after the nerf.
