Three reasons Isurus won’t win worlds

1. Fail in play-ins.

Like any team in the play-in stage, Isurus could fail to make it out of their group or lose in the knockout stage. With a group that includes DetonatioN FocusMe and Splyce it could be a second, or third-place finish in groups for Isurus.

Even with a second-place finish they would be waiting for a group winner that would most likely be a Clutch, Damwon, or Hong Kong Attitude. None of these matchups look favorable to them, likely making their run at worlds a short one.

2. Rough MSI

Isurus did get a taste of international competition at MSI in 2019, but it would hardly be considered a successful experience. Matched up in a group with Bombers, 1907 Fenerbahce, and Phong Vu Buffalo Isurus went 2-4 to tie the Bombers for third/fourth in the group.

Granted none of these teams are at Worlds, but there are plenty of better teams taking their place at Worlds. If Isurus can’t beat the slightly worse teams to get to groups, how are they going to take down the top seeds and make a real run?

3. Low Ranked

Isurus wasn’t granted a high rating on our Worlds ranking, placing 19th out of 24. They also struggled on our individual player list. In fact, Oddie was the worst jungler on our list while Seiya was only 20th best in the middle lane. It’s not too much of a confidence builder when your star players aren’t highly regarded going into the tournament.

Isurus may be highly rated in the LLA, but that might be the extent of it. A ranking this bad is going to make it insanely hard to see them winning a World Championship.Isurus has a lot of work ahead of them if they want to add a world championship to the LLA pair of titles they got in 2019.
