League of Legends Worlds 2019: Group C preview – how do the teams stack up lane by lane?
By Josh Tyler
Jungle
SKT: Kim “Clid” Tae-min
Fnatic: Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen
RNG: Hong “Karsa” Hao-Xuan
Clutch: Nam “LirA” Tae-yoo
In this group, we actually have zero players who have played Qiyana competitively, but I do feel like she could be a solid pick in the hands of Clid, Broxah, or Karsa. Unfortunately, LirA probably would be the weakest of the crew, which is probably why Clutch neglected to pick it in any of their games at play-ins.
However, these junglers all have clearly distinct jungle pools based on their most-played champions. Karsa favors Gragas, but he’s shown a bit of a deeper champion pool with a fair amount of games on Skarner, Jarvan IV, and Elise. Clid is another champion with a large champion pool, playing Elise, Sylas, Jarvan IV, Skarner, Lee Sin, and Sejuani, and he’s pretty good at all of them. Unfortunately, Broxah is almost entirely a two-champion player during the LEC – Lee Sin and Gragas – but luckily he’s incredible on those picks.
For LirA, though, we see some issues. There was another two-horse champion, but unfortunately those two were Skarner and Sejuani, who is largely out of the meta at this point. However, based on the play-in stage, I think Elise and Rek’Sai will be key picks for him as well.
- Pure power ranking: Clid > Karsa >> Broxah >> LirA
- If playing Qiyana: Clid > Karsa > Broxah >> LirA
- If playing Gragas: Karsa > Clid > Broxah >> LirA
- If playing Lee Sin: Clid > Broxah > Karsa >> LirA
- If playing off-meta champions: Clid > Karsa > LirA > Broxah
I would expect the highest priority jungler in Group D to be Lee Sin.
