Based on this tier list, we have also taken the average ranking of each champion within every Class and Origin in TFT, which will give our aggregated ranking so you know which synergies are best in Patch 10.5. One thing to note is that these rankings are purely based on the average champion strength within that group, not the strength of the buff the synergy provides. We are assuming for purposes of this tier list that champions are ranked based on not only cost and statistics, but whether they can be part of a powerful synergy.

Best compositions

In accordance with our rankings of the best champions, Classes and Origins, we now give you a guide for the best comps in Patch 10.4, along with the units you should buy in each one, as well as the best supplemental synergies to pair those comps with. We will put an asterisk next to the units that should be the main focus of these comps, to get to 2 or 3-stars and put items on. Note that when we recommend specific units of a Class/Element but omit others for your pairings, we are saying these are the options we would consider to be above average or worthwhile additions to your comp.

  • Full Shadow/Inferno: Kindred (*), Amumu, Varus, Senna, Malzahar, Sion, Veigar Master Yi
    • Can swap Brand or Annie for either Amumu. You also have the option to drop Varus and replace with Annie and Zyra for Summoners as well.
    • Note, if you can get a Bami’s Cinder to turn one of the Shadows into an Inferno as well, it’s best to put on Sion.
    • Key items: Seraph’s Embrace (Kindred), Jeweled Gauntlet (Kindred) and Infinity Edge (Kindred), Guardian Angel (Sion), Warmog’s (Sion)
  • Full Inferno/Shadow: Kindred (*), Amumu (*), Varus, Annie, Brand, Zyra, Malzahar, Sion
    • You can swap Sion for Master Yi if you prefer.
    • If you get a Bami’s Cinder, drop Brand, put the Bami’s Cinder on Sion and swap in Malphite for Wardens. If you have Master Yi in for Sion, put the Bami’s Cinder on Malzahar and swap Janna/Nami for Brand to get Mystics.
    • Key items: Seraph’s Embrace (Kindred), Jeweled Gauntlet AND Infinity Edge (Kindred), Morellonomicon (Brand or Amumu)
  • Ocean/Mages: Brand (*), Vladimir, Syndra, Taliyah, Veigar, Malphite (*), Nautilus, Thresh
    • Ideally you want to get a Mage’s Cap on Malphite. If this is not possible, drop Malphite for Leblanc OR drop one of Syndra/Vlad and Veigar to add Nami and Soraka/Janna for Mystics.
    • Key items: Spear of Shojin (Brand), Morellonomicon (Brand or Malphite), Rabadon’s Deathcap (Brand), Seraph’s Embrace (Veigar)
  • Poison/Crystal/Rangers: Ashe (*), Twitch, Kindred, Ezreal, Taric (*), Braum, Singed, Dr. Mundo
    • Can swap Varus for Kindred. Can also swap Taric for Skarner while waiting to get a Taric OR if you get your Skarner to 3-stars.
    • You also have the option to drop two Rangers (ideally Ezreal and Kindred) and combine this with Wardens (add two of Malphite, Amumu, Thresh), Shadow (add Sion and Master Yi), or Inferno (add Amumu and Annie).
    • Key items: Statik Shiv (Ashe), Seraph’s Embrace (Kindred), Infinity Edge (Twitch), Last Whisper (Twitch), Bloodthirster (Twitch or Ashe)
  • Poison/Predators: Kog’Maw (*), Skarner (*), Rek’Sai, Twitch (*), Ashe, Singed, Nocturne
    • You should really only go this route if you can hyper-roll Kog’Maw to 3-stars. You can also drop Nocturne for Mountain as well (add Taliyah and Malphite) or to add Mystics/Wardens.
    • Key items: Luden’s Echo (Kog’Maw), Morellonomicon (Singed), Infinity Edge (Twitch)
  • Assassin/Desert/Summoners: Azir (*), Kha’Zix (*), Zed, Renekton, Sivir, Yorick, Qiyana
    • You can swap out Yorick for Annie OR for another Summoner if you can 3-star them.
    • Key items: Guinsoo’s Rageblade (Azir), Infinity Edge (Azir or Kha’Zix), Guardian Angel (Kha’Zix)

Concluding notes

While there’s not much more these aggregations can tell us with certainty with regards to comps or items, here is what our data can tell you about what to look for within your next Teamfight Tactics game.

  • Overall, the strength of the different comps didn’t change much from Patch 10.4 to Patch 10.5, so whatever comps you had success with in the last patch should still be viable.
  • Make sure that you’re adding on Mystics late game whenever you can and build Lunars for the early/mid game. You can keep Karma into the late game, as she is one of the stronger Mystics, but I’d sell Leona unless you get to 3-stars.
  • Kindred is just too good of a unit to not pick up whenever you get the chance in Patch 10.5. Almost any item works on her and she fits into so many different types of comps
