The last week of LCS Summer 2020 has a lot at stake with spots in the playoffs still up for grabs.

Golden Guardians

Golden Guardians are starting to look like true contenders as they currently have a three-game winning streak and sit at 9-7. They are locked into a playoff berth, but still, their seeding is still up in the air. They’re going for an 11-win season, but that won’t be guaranteed against Evil Geniuses and TSM.  The fifth or sixth seed is what this team is most likely going to receive even if they go winless during week nine.

Evil Geniuses

After a bit of a down split after a good spring, they sit at 7-9 and in sixth place.  Luckily for them, seven wins are enough to make the playoffs as the bottom two teams can only each get six. However, they do have seeding implications in both of their games this weekend.

A 2-0 week combined with a Golden Guardians 0-2, would force a tie-breaker between those two teams. They also play 100 Thieves, a team they sit a game ahead of in the standings. A win against them pretty much keeps them out of the bottom two seeds and starting in the losers bracket.

100 Thieves

A 6-10 mark has them in seventh place at the moment, but a pair of wins could put them in the sixth seed if they can beat Dignitas and Evil Geniuses.  However sixth is the best they can do, and that could come down to beating Evil Geniuses twice, once to end the split and the second time in a tiebreaker. If 100 Thieves wants to make it easier all they need to do is beat Dignitas get a seventh win and they are in the playoffs for sure.
