The kit for League of Legends’ 151st champion, Samira, has been revealed

League of Legends has announced that Samira, the Desert Rose, will be the 151st champion to be added to Summoner’s Rift. The announcement came in the form of a trailer that showcased the champion’s model, abilities, and interesting passive mechanic.

Although the full champion spotlight and release date have yet to be revealed, popular League of Legends update website, Surrender at 20, has done some digging on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) files and found more detailed information about Samira’s kit.

Obviously, until League of Legends officially releases the details on the PBE, this information is subject to change and could even be removed before Samira is welcomed onto the Rift. However, it is likely that the majority of her kit will remain the same as can be seen on the S@20 website.

Here’s a full breakdown of Samira’s kit:

"Passive – Daredevil ImpulseSamira builds a combo by hitting Attacks or abilities unique from the previous hit. Each one increases her Style, from “E” to “S” grade (6 total). Samira gains X% Movement Speed per grade.Samira’s attacks in melee range deal an additional X magic damage, increased up to X based on the target’s missing Health.Samira’s Attacks against enemies affected by Immobilizing effects Knock Up for 0.5 seconds and deal damage over 6 separate attacks. Samira dashes into range against targets slightly outside her Attack range."

One of the most unique aspects of Samira’s kit is her grade-style passive which increases her movement speed as she chains auto attacks and abilities against enemy champions. This could lead to the Desert Rose being an incredibly mobile and slippery champion in extended trades and teamfights.

The second part of her passive is increased damage to champions in melee range and an execute for low health targets. This is one of the more basic aspects of Samira’s kit.

Finally, Samira’s passive allows her to knock up enemy champions if they have been stunned, rooted, or slowed by her allies. This basically extends any form of crowd control by 0.5 seconds and allows Samira and her team to edge in some extra DPS and take an advantage in a fight.

"Q – FlairSamira fires a shot, dealing X physical damage to the first enemy hit.If this ability is cast towards an enemy in melee range, Samira will instead slash with her sword, dealing X physical damage.Either hit can critically strike for 25% bonus damage. If cast during Wild Rush, Samira will strike all enemies in her path upon completion."

Flair is Samira’s Q, an ability that deals damage either with her sword or her ranged weapon and can critically strike. It has the added bonus of striking all enemies if activated during her E – Wild Rush.

"W – Blade WhirlSamira slashes around her for 1 second, damaging enemies twice for X physical damage each and destroying any enemy missiles that enter the area."

Blade Whirl is an upgraded version of Shen’s Spirit’s Refuge and similar to Xin Zhao’s Crescent Guard as it blocks all projectiles, rendering ranged opponents useless for 1 second. However, Blade Whirl has the added bonus of damaging enemies when cast.

This ability has some excellent outplay potential, particularly if used in the bottom lane against two melee champions.

"E – Wild RushSamira dashes through an enemy or ally, slashing enemies she passes through and gaining Attack Speed. Killing an enemy champion refreshes this ability’s cooldown."

Wild Rush is basically Yasuo’s Sweeping Blade but presumably on a longer cooldown compensated for by a cooldown reset when killing an enemy champion. This ability adds to Samira’s already excellent mobility.

"R – Inferno TriggerSamira can only use this ability if her current Style rating is S.Samira unleashes a torrent of shots from her weapons, wildly shooting all enemies surrounding her 10 times over 2 seconds, each shot dealing X physical damage and applying lifesteal. Each shot can also critically strike."

Inferno Trigger is by far the most exciting and terrifying part of Samira’s kit. When cast, Samira fires at all enemies in a HUGE radius and can critically strike. From the looks of the champion trailer, this ultimate ability is deadly and has a negligible cooldown while Samira’s current Style rating is S.

The balance team intends for Samira to be played as a marksman, presumably in the bottom lane. However, the League of Legends community is already eyeing her up for a role in the solo lanes with excellent mobility and versatile damage ranges.
