We break down why each of the League of Legends champions in the VGU poll should, or shouldn’t, be the pick for an update.

Nocturne

Pros: Other than his ultimate, Nocturne doesn’t really fit with his theme of being a living nightmare. On top of that, his kit is almost entirely built around that ult and without it Nocturne is extremely linear. He needs more ways to add terror to his enemies, much like the Fiddlesticks rework did.

Cons: It’s good to have simpler champions in League of Legends, as champs like Nocturne open up the game to newer players. Right now, Nocturne’s kit gives him the ability to outplay enemies with his spell shield and his kit is perfectly suited to the jungle role, while also being viable in the mid lane and top lane.

Udyr

Pros: His entire kit is just “walk at you and smack you.” Whether or not he is viable is largely dependent on whether one of his stances (usually tiger or phoenix) are overpowered or not. Visually, Udyr is such a clunky champion that most people consider his Spirit Guard skin as mandatory, which means he should be a prime candidate for a rework.

Cons: Udyr’s kit is so unique, having four different stances and no ultimate, it makes imagining a rework that doesn’t compromise that kit impossible. Like Nocturne, it’s great to have simpler champions and so Udyr should remain.
