9. Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black (Dignitas)

Once an all-LCS, bordering on MVP-caliber, support, Aphromoo really has not been at that peak level since leaving CLG in 2017. Even after the public split from Doublelift and the end of Rush Hour, Aphromoo had success with Stixxay, but has never been able to replicate that success with Cody Sun, Bang, or Johnsun.

Now, he has yet another young ADC to mentor in Neo, but this young man has less excitement around his debut with Johnsun. Unfortunately, Neo will be paired with a veteran who very clearly appears to be in decline.

In 2020, Aphromoo was the second-worst laning support (-261.8 MAGXD @ 15) and second-worst in terms of damage (-34.2 EDD) ahead of only Smoothie. While he wasn’t dying at an overly-high clip relative to his position (2.1 deaths per game), he had among the fewest assists per game (6.4) in the league. This resulted in him posting the second-worst aKDA among all supports at 1.76.

Aphro’s champion pool is relatively comparable to Smoothie’s (both played 12 unique champions in 2020, below the average for supports of 13). However, Smoothie did manage to have a slightly bigger comfort pool, as Aphromoo played only five supports in at least 10% of his games last year.
