While we have looked at the tier list for Patch 8.24(b) in the past, the data was mostly applicable to players in higher ranks (at least Platinum). Now, we look at champions that would be more effective in bronze and silver in our Patch 8.24(b) low elo tier list.

When compiling our tier list for the current League of Legends patch, we balance around data and opinions meant for high elo players. As of right now, only 11-12% of all ranked players are situated in platinum or higher, so the question must be asked: how much would a Patch 8.24(b) low elo tier list differ from the base tier list for that patch?

Indeed, it is widely known that some champions that are more effective in bronze, silver, and gold ranks, whereas others are so mechanically difficult that they have little effectiveness in less-skilled hands. Because some – though not all – of the ranking sites we use to differentiate between low and high elo rankings, we will be using that same methodology to create a new tier list for this patch.

Whereas the general tier list was based off statistics for Platinum+ players, this tier list will use data for silver players, as silver remains the ranking with the largest player base and would, therefore, be most useful to the majority of low elo players. Without further ado, the Patch 8.24(b) low elo tier list.

The first major difference between the high and low elo tier list that we can see is the rise of C and D tier champions in high elo that become more effective in lower elos. Among those, champions like Nasus, Yorick, Volibear, and Kayle jump solidly into the B or A tiers, while B tier champions in high elo like Garen and Yasuo become S tier in silver.

On the other side, we see more mechanically-intensive champions like Camille, Irelia, and Aatrox falling off in terms of effectiveness. It is a bit surprising to see some simpler champions like Lissandra and Poppy falling off, but when looking at the higher tier champions, the one thing that stands out is that most of them have the ability to “solo carry” due to either hyperscaling (Nasus, Jax, Tryndamere) or dominant lane bullies (Darius, Illaoi, Rumble).

Most players wouldn’t recommend such difficult champions like Yasuo, Riven, or Fiora to low elo players, yet they sit firmly in the S or A tiers, above simpler champions like Dr. Mundo, Poppy, Shyvana, and Trundle. This is likely because those higher-tier champions have that ability to solo-carry games and because their strong laning phase is difficult for silver players to play against.
