35. Rumble

The first yordle to make the list is Rumble, though it’s mostly due to one thing — his ultimate.

Rumble’s ultimate is one of the best abilities in the game, in terms of its ability to impact a game, and in terms of its design. Visually, it looks great, clearly displaying the destruction it can impart upon an enemy team. The fact that it gives an AP mage top laner a strong way to impact a teamfight that still contains potential ways to outplay it is a gem of design. If you have any mobility as a champion, you likely can dash out of the ultimate, which is what makes Rumble so special. There has to be a level of preparation to set up the perfect Rumble ult, which either means fighting in an enclosed space where the ult can catch as many enemies as possible, or using other champions to lock the enemy in place while your ult burns them down. It can be exhilarating to watch.

Not only does he have this tool at his disposal, but he also contains one of the most unique build paths in the game. Although his builds tend to be repetitive, rushing magic penetration and Liandry’s isn’t common. This gives Rumble the unique ability to melt HP tanks from a mage top lane position, something that can only truly be said about him.

Designing entire team compositions around one ability is something that Rumble is capable of while not many others are (Yasuo’s last breath comes to mind).

Here’s a great example of how a Rumble can turn a game around, let alone a single fight.
